The history of plant dates back to July 6, 1883, when provincial government of Bessarabia has approved the first project in the region of the machine-building enterprise – the mechanical and foundry plant. Later on, during the Inter-War period, the plant was divided into three private workshops. In 1940, basing on these workshops, the first state foundry plant was established. In 1944, instead of an old enterprise, mechanical plant was created. In 1948, itwasnamedafterG.I. Kotovsky. The plant has to its credit mastering and serial production of such products as drilling machines, gas fittings, overhead runways for livestock farms, rock-cutting machines for limestone quarrying, etc. The year of 1958 has marked the beginning of a new era in the history of plant. The enterprise commenced with mastering the production of submersible pumps with first hundred of these pumps produced the same year. In 1972, the Kishinev pump plant named after G.I.Kotovsky became the part of the Research and Production Association “Moldavhidromash”. By the year of 1989, the annual pump production has reached the volume of 53 thou. units.

In 1993, the plant was renamed as the Joint-Stock Company “Kishinev plant of submersible pumps “Hidropompa”” (“Hidropompa” SA). The range of currently produced products amounts to more than 90 items and continues to grow. The enterprise produces electric pumps both for clean water and water with increased content of mechanical and chemical impurities and with temperature up to 90°С, as well as pumps for sea water. Pump and motor joining is performed under the NEMA standard providing interchangeability with deep-well electric pumps from the majority of European manufacturers. The modern process equipment maintained by the highly qualified specialists, as well as rich experience in designing, manufacturing and operation make it possible to fulfill in optimal terms any orders for production of submersible deep-well electric pumps in required quantities and, virtually, with any parameters given by the customer.

“Hidropompa” SA operates actively in the field of service maintenance, repair and production of spare parts.
